The majority of days on the ice were grey and moody. At the time we longed for the stark contrasts and rich blue sky but after reviewing the images I’m glad we had an opportunity to see all the faces of the Southern continent.
The contrast of white iecbergs agains the changing and sometimes ominous weather was deep and affecting.
Even on the mistiest days we had constant visual reminders of the cold prohibiting Mountainous landscape glimpsed momentarily through a fleeting clear patch.
I look forward to my next opportunity to explore this amazing land and next time I’ll bring back images from the mounatin tops.
