Again I found myself on a trip wondering why I persist with this heavy chest pack full of camera and the weight 14-24mm 2.8.
It’s become my mission kit and I find that the wide end always pays off.
Truth be told, if I could afford to buy across to the Sony A7Rii I’d do it but for now the hefty weight of the Nikon D800 will continue to accompany me on my mountain missions even if it means I can only access one lens for the trip.
Theres always an upside to lugging the gear and on this trip it came in the form of a burst of colour in the final moments of the day as we decended into the lower Kirstyburn.
I’m home and basking in this magical place that is the Southern Lakes of New Zealand.
